Renee Boogren, Troy College and Career High School
Astronomy NGSS Renee Boogren
Renee teaches at the Troy College and Career High School. She teaches the full range of science classes
that are offered at the school. This is her sixth year teaching at TCCHS. Her project “Astronomy NGSS”
is the result of participation in a staff development experience titled The Next Generation Science
Exemplar PD System for Science Educators. She is highly regarded as an innovative teacher who
constantly works to introduce new teaching methods and materials to meet the varied learning styles of
the students attending TCCHS. She has been selected to be a part of a pilot study of a new Genetics
curriculum developed by the University of Utah. Only four other teachers in Michigan are part of the
pilot that is being conduced across the country by a select number of teachers. She also teaches a
Biology Lab class at Wayne State University.
