Any other tips or hints for me as i fill out our application?
The TFEE is looking for quality over quantity in these applications. Be clear and concise in your explanation.
The summary (first question in the project overview section) is your time to shine. Explain what your project is, how it will engage your students, and how it will enhance learning. The TFEE would like to be able to cut out this section of your application and place it on our website, so make sure that this answer can stand alone to explain what your project is all about - both activities, learning goals and outcomes.
Read through our grant rubric carefully. The rubric will show you what our readers are looking for as they score grants.
Keep in mind that while many of our grant readers are involved in education, some are not. Be sure to explain acronyms and any education-specific jargon that is used in the application. Do not assume that the person reading your application is a fellow educator.
Do not include links out to videos or other websites. They will not be opened. Do your best to explain your project using just the grant application.
Grants must include a detailed cost breakdown of your project. This budget must be typed into our form. The budget cannot be shared as a link to an external file. Your grant application will not be considered without this breakdown typed into the form. Again, do not share a link to a Google Sheet or a OneDrive link to an Excel file. Type your budget into the form.

What is the maximum award amount?
The maximum award is $800 per applicant. For example, if 3 teachers/staff are involved in the project, the maximum possible award is $2,400. If 10 teachers/staff are involved, the maximum possible award is $8,000.
Can I save my progress on the online Application?
The online application was built using Google Forms. Google now gives you the option to sign into Google to save your progress. Below is a picture showing where you will find this option.
If you would prefer not to sign into Google, your progress will not be saved. Instead, you can use our Grant Application Template to work on your application, and then cut and paste the answers into the Google Form when you're ready.
Please note, grant applications will only be accepted via the Online Application. |
Is there a way to view the full grant application?
Yes! By downloading the Grant Application Template, you will be able to see the full application without the section breaks that exist in the Online Application.
Can I apply for more than one grant?
Yes! Teachers can be involved in more than one multi-teacher grant.
Can a club apply for a grant?
Clubs are not eligible to be considered for a TFEE classroom grant.

DO TEACHERS HAVE TO PLAN A JOINT ACTIVITY TO QUALIFY FOR A MULTI-TEACHER GRANT?
No. While joint activities would certainly qualify to apply for a multi-teacher grant, they are not the only way to qualify. Teachers who teach the same or similar classes may apply together for materials that would be shared between them, or which would be of benefit to all teachers in the group. You could be in the same building, or different buildings. There are many ways to group together to qualify for a multi-teacher grant, so be creative! And if you have questions, please reach out to either Scott or Alison (contact info above).
