A new school year is full of excitement, community and opportunity. For The Troy Foundation for Educational Excellence (TFEE), this means planning for the future to ensure that we further our mission to strengthen the educational excellence of Troy School District K-12 Students by funding learning opportunities, through private support.
TFEE provides tens of thousands of dollars in grants to teachers in the Troy School District to enhance education in TSD classrooms. During the 2020 - 2021 school year, TFEE provided more than 650 teachers with tech tools to assist them as they worked to educate our students during the pandemic. TFEE equipped every middle school English teacher with a classroom library full of the latest in young adult literature in Fall 2021. Elementary schools received enhanced literacy libraries, and four graduating seniors received scholarships, in 2022 through TFEE.
TFEE is currently seeking Trustees and Friends of the Foundation, and has a number of different opportunities for volunteers, with varying time commitments. From helping out with the annual golf outing, to reviewing teacher grants, to assisting with communications and social media posts, there are opportunities for many skill sets. As a Friend of the Foundation, one may assist with a specific project or initiative of the TFEE. Individuals looking to take a more active role with TFEE, may consider being a Trustee (attending a monthly one-hour meeting in addition to assisting committees throughout the school year).
